Taste of Australia culinary competition launched in Hanoi

VOV.VN - A Taste of Australia culinary competition was held in Hanoi on April 17 as part of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Australia-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

Australian ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick gives a speech at the opening ceremony of the competition.
The culinary competition is organized by the embassy of Australia in Vietnam, aiming to introduce fresh and safe food from Australia.
Jury members are Australian ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick (L), internationally renowned chef Tracey Lister (R) and Executive Chef Paul Alan Wood (C).
The competition is held at the same time in Hanoi, Nha Trang, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City. In Hanoi, there are 4 teams, each has 2 members.
Fresh materials are used in the culinary competition.
The contestants in the first competition part
A contestant from Netspace school
Contestants are required to cut chili and onion in 15 minutes.

All the 4 teams complete their first part.
In the second part they are required to show skills of cutting beef.
 
 
In final part
Executive Chef Paul Alan Wood said contestants have to use materials from Australia, including wine and beef to make a dish.
 
 
They have 50 minutes to complete the final part.

The contestants present their dishes to the judge.

 
Team 3 from Pegasus Cooking School wins the preliminary round of Taste of Australia culinary competition. They will fly to Danang City to compete in the final round.
