Singer Tung Duong to perform ahead of Vietnam–Thailand ASEAN Cup final
VOV.VN - Singer Tung Duong will give a 10-minute opening performance ahead of the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final between Vietnam and Thailand at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on the evening of August 26.
The male singer is scheduled to perform two songs: the international sports anthem "We Are the Champions" and "Khat vong vinh quang" (Aspiration for Glory), a new composition dedicated to Vietnamese sports by composer Nguyen Van Chung.
Tung Duong will be the sole artist performing before kickoff. While pre-match musical performances are uncommon in ASEAN Cup history, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) allocated a 10-minute slot for a welcome art segment for this final match.
The performance comes as the Vietnamese national team holds an advantage following their first-leg victory over Thailand at Rajamangala Stadium on August 22.
According to composer Nguyen Van Chung, "Khat vong vinh quang" was inspired by football and the fighting spirit of Vietnamese players, requiring a powerful and inspiring vocal delivery suitable for a stadium atmosphere.
Following his pre-match performance, Tung Duong is set to hold a solo concert at My Dinh National Stadium on December 19, 2026.
