Sculptures for royal cremation ceremony near completion

The Office of Traditional Arts is putting the finishing touches to a sculpture of God Narayana with a smiling face of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej showing his royal grace towards the Thai people and the world. 

The Office of Traditional Arts’ chief of sculpture division Prasopsuk Ratmai revealed the progress of sculptures making for the royal cremation ceremony of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej is progressing according to the plan, with the molding of God Narayana sculpture nearly completed. 
The sculpture of God Narayana will be extracted from the silicon mold on 25 March 2017, and will them be moved to a workshop at Sanam Luang for fiberglass molding and coloring. The sculpture of God Narayana will have a face similar to smiling King Bhumibol Adulyadej from the belief that the King is an incarnated God Narayana. 

The Office of Traditional Arts is also making other sculptures such as the sculpture of God Shiva, God Indra, angels, Heavenly Kings, the Great Lion, and the mystic creature of Singha. The sculptures are being made from the imagination of craftsmen combined with traditional techniques to reflect the realism art in the era of King Rama IX.
