Russian State Ballet to return to Hanoi with two classical masterpieces

VOV.VN - The Russian State Ballet, one of Russia's most distinguished ballet companies, will present three performances in late March at the Ho Guom Opera House, marking its second visit to Vietnam.

On March 25, the Russian State Ballet will collaborate with the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra for the first time to perform The Nutcracker, the celebrated classical ballet featuring the luminous and enduring music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Composed in 1892, The Nutcracker has been one of the most beloved works in the classical ballet repertoire and continues to be performed regularly by major ballet companies around the world.

Hanoi audiences will also have the opportunity to experience the iconic ballet Romeo and Juliet on March 26 and 27.

Romeo and Juliet is a profoundly dramatic adaptation of the timeless tragedy by William Shakespeare, set to the powerful and emotionally charged score of Sergei Prokofiev.

Founded in 1981 under the leadership of People's Artist Vyacheslav Gordeev, one of the most important figures in the history of Russian ballet, the Russian State Ballet gathers many renowned ballet artists. To date, the company has captivated audiences in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Earlier, in April last year, Russian dancers performed the classic ballet repertoire Swan Lake, receiving much applause from the Hanoi audience.
