Outstanding eSport players honoured
(VOV) -Certificates of merit have been presented to players and trainers by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) and the Vietnamese Recreational and Electronic Sport Association (VIRESA) for their outstanding performance at international contests.
The announcement was made at the 2013 Vietnam eSport Awards ceremony held in Hanoi on April 3.
After a week of online voting, individuals and team competitors from the World of Tanks, FIFA Online 2, Crossfire, Space Cowboy and Audition games were selected for awards across a range of categories.
With the spectacular success of hosting the Vietnam eSport Championship (VEC) to find and nurture many young, talented players, 2012 marked a significant milestone in the evolution of the sport sector in the country.
Despite playing a new type of sport, the World of Tanks team managed to place fourth in the World Cyber Games 2012 Grand Final.
