Miss Vietnam 2022 beauty pageant officially launched

Le Xuan Son, editor-in-chief of Tien Phong, said the pageant has been running for the past 34 years, and the winners, along with taking part in social and charity campaigns, have gained good results in global beauty contests, helping elevate Vietnamese women’s beauty on the world stage.

Vietnam moved up eight positions to 42nd in the grand slam ranking for beauty over the past two years, as announced by international beauty site Globalbeauties.

This achievement can be put down to notable names such as Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Miss Grand International 2021, Do Thi Ha, a Top 13 finisher at Miss World 2021, and Nguyen Le Ngoc Thao, a Top 20 finisher at Miss Grand International 2020.

This year, apart from charity projects, contestants will join in several tourism activities to popularize Vietnam as a safe and friendly destination for visitors. They will also participate in activities to help them improve their skills in international beauty contests, according to Pham Kim Dung, general director of Sen Vang Entertainment Co. Ltd., the co-organiser of the contest.

Miss Vietnam 2022 is a biennial national beauty contest which is open for Vietnamese young women aged between 18 and 27.

This year’s competition will see the pageant’s qualifiers and semi-final round take place nationwide throughout October and December. In addition, a range of sub-categories will also be held for the titles of Miss Sports, Miss Fashion, and Miss Talent ahead of the grand finale which is scheduled to be held in mid-December in Ho Chi Minh City.

Since its inception in 1988, Miss Vietnam has emerged as one of the most prestigious national beauty contests aiming to honour Vietnamese women’s beauty, spirit, lifestyle, and talent.
