Many local residents and international visitors gathered in front of the Yasaka-SaiGon-Nha Trang Hotel on January 24 to see a 34m sticky rice roll.

The huge cake was carried by some 78 people in a long procession led by a group of lion dancers and followed by many beautiful girls in traditional costumes.

The cake, stuffed with ingredients from different regions in Vietnam, weighs 950 kilos after being boiled for hours on the beach near the hotel. It will be sold to visitors at VND10,000 a piece. All the proceeds will go to the Fund for the Poor in Nha Trang.
