Local photographer honoured at Monochrome Awards
VOV.VN - A black and white photograph featuring a giant bronze statue of Buddha sitting atop Mount Fansipan came in third place in the architecture category at the Monochrome Photography Awards.
The artwork was submitted by Vietnamese photographer Le Viet Khanh and was named in the professionalism sub-category.
Khanh described the piece as, “Bronze statue of Buddha is an architectural work built very carefully on the top of Mount Fansipan at 3143 metres high.
Fansipan mountain is called the roof of Indochina, and in order to build this work, at first, all materials were piggybacked to the top of the mountain by walking up small trails and upside down.
This photo is an extremely rare moment when clouds follow the wind over the top of the mountain, but just enough to see this structure.”
The Monochrome Awards is an international black and white photography contest that is held annually for professional and amateur photographers worldwide.
The prestigious global contest attracts hundreds of entries each year, with the winner receiving a cash prize of US$3,000, along with international recognition in the field of black and white photography.
