Largest-ever spiritual ceramics exhibition heads to Ba Den Mountain

VOV.VN - “Ceramic Sutra – The Sound of the World”, Vietnam’s largest spiritual ceramic installation on a sacred mountain summit, is scheduled to take place at Ba Den Mountain in southern Tay Ninh province from August 8 to September 6.

On display will be 414 one-of-a-kind ceramic sculptures created by ceramic artist Nguyen Tuan and artisans from the nearly 700-year-old Phu Lang pottery village in northern Bac Ninh province. Buddhist-inspired ceramic works feature exquisite sculptural details that embody Buddhist philosophies.

The collection combines the traditional craftsmanship of Phu Lang ceramics with contemporary sculptural techniques that will transform the mountain summit into an immersive cultural and spiritual art space.

The exhibition not only is an art installation featuring Buddhist ceramic works but also offers unique experiences to honour and preserve a centuries-old craft of Vietnam.

One of the unique highlights of the exhibition will be the hands-on pottery workshop held right within the exhibition space, where visitors can try their hand at shaping clay on pottery wheels under the guidance of skilled artisans and experts. Clay is transported from the traditional craft village of Phu Lang to Ba Den Mountain, helping visitors truly appreciate the beauty and find out about the history of this traditional ceramic craft.

Also at the exhibition, artistic programme "Gốm Show" will be organised to offer an art experience for visitors that celebrates heritage in a way never before seen in Tay Ninh.

During the one-month exhibition, visitors will immerse themselves in a vibrant atmosphere featuring artistic performances, games, and buy small ceramic figurines crafted by artisans from Phu Lang village.

With this large-scale spiritual ceramic art exhibition, Ba Den Mountain once again affirms its status as a premier cultural destination in the country as the place not only serves as a venue for artistic expression and breathes new life into heritage but also honours artisans and preserves the country’s profound cultural depth.
