Italian Film Week makes Hanoi debut

VOV.VN - The first-ever Italian Film Week is set to get underway in Hanoi from September 20-23, as part of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Italy-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

Vietnamese audiences will have a chance to get a glimpse into the world famous Italian film industry.

The highlight of the event will be the appearance of renowned Italian director Paolo Genovese. He will attend several exchanges with young Vietnamese filmmakers and join the event’s opening ceremony at CGV Vincom Center Ba Trieu on September 20.

Three of his films, “Perfect strangers”, “The place”, and “A perfect family”, will be screened in the capital city.

Since 1896, Italy has greatly contributed to the development of contemporary cinema, becoming one of the leading superpowers in the field. The country is also home to many famous actors, directors and skilled technicians who have received awards at many prestigious festivals all around the world. 

A representative of the Italian Embassy in Vietnam said, over the past few years, many relevant initiatives, meetings, round-tables and promotional events have been organized with the aim of bringing the Italian film industry to Vietnam.
