Hoang Nam on fire at Malaysia Cup
(VOV) - Vietnamese young tennis star Ly Hoang Nam summarily defeated strong rival Kwon Soon Woo of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on March 21 in two straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, in the semi-final round of the 25th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup in Malaysia.
Hoang Nam, currently 49th in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior rankings, has performed explosively at the tournament defeating formidable rivals Jones Scott of Australia, Hao Sheng Koay of Malaysia, Yu Yibing of China and Kwon Soon Woo of the RoK.
Vietnam’s leading tennis player is on a hot streak and has yet to lose even a single set at the tourney.
His next faces off with either Chan Yeong Oh of the RoK (31st in ITF rankings ) or Alberto Lim of the Phillipines (109th in ITF ranking) depending on the outcome of their match up.
