Historical milestones of Hanoi highlighted in cultural exhibition
VOV.VN - An exhibition showcasing historical moments from the capital’s history kicked off in Hanoi on October 3 to mark the 1,010th anniversary of Hanoi, the city’s 17th Party Congress, and the 66th anniversary of its liberation (October 10).
Addressing the opening of the event, To Van Dong, director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, described the former imperial citadel of Thang Long, now Hanoi city, as an area that has witnessed many of the country’s major historical events, a range of highs and lows in the nation’s history, and has developed into a place that represents the quintessence of Vietnamese culture.
On display at the exhibition are more than 200 pictures, documents, photos, and exhibits that feature some of the capital’s historical milestones through various dynasties.
The event, due to run until October 15, is expected to allow visitors to gain greater insights into the capital’s history and its cultural values through different periods.
