HCM City to host Miss Global Tourism Ambassador 2026
VOV.VN - Around 30 contestants from countries and territories worldwide are expected to participate in the Miss Global Tourism Ambassador 2026 pageant in Ho Chi Minh City late this year to promote cultural exchange, tourism and international connectivity.
The announcement was made at a press conference held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 30.
According to the organising board, the pageant seeks to identify contestants who embody intelligence, confidence and the ability to connect cultures while promoting tourism to international audiences.
Organisers said they hope to develop Miss Global Tourism Ambassador into a cultural exchange platform where contestants can demonstrate social responsibility and contribute to strengthening intercultural understanding.
The competition places strong emphasis on the role of the winner after the coronation, said Nguyen Dinh Phuc, head of the organising board. The titleholder is expected to participate in tourism and cultural promotion campaigns as well as community initiatives in her home country or territory and at international events, he added.
According to Vu Thai, deputy head of the organising committee, a key distinction of the pageant is its focus on post-title responsibilities rather than only competition performance.
Contestants will compete in segments, including national costume, swimsuit, evening gown, interviews and tourism project presentations.
Through these activities, Thai said, organisers wish to showcase Vietnam’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage, cuisine and people to an international audience.
The jury panel will comprise Nguyen Truong Son, chairman of the Vietnam Advertising Association, who serves as head of the jury; Miss World Tourism Ambassador 2018 Phan Thi Mo; Miss Celebrity International 2025 Tran Tran My Linh; Miss Tourism World 2022 Erina Hanawa; and Miss Charm 2024 Rashmita Rasindran.
The jury panel will select a winner and four runners-up. The winner will receive a prize worth VND1 billion (US$38,000), while the total prize pool exceeds VND3 billion.
Vietnam's representative for Miss Global Tourism Ambassador 2026 will be announced later, with the grand finale slated for November 21 in Ho Chi Minh City.
