Hanoi, HCM City to host European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival

VOV.VN - The 11th iteration of the European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will run from October 1 to October 11 in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The details of the event were announced at a press conference on September 29, during which Nguyen Quang Tuan, head of the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio (DSF), said the festival will be held with the aim of boosting cultural exchanges between Vietnam and European countries.

Those who attend the event will be given the chance to learn more about a wide variety of different countries, people, and cultures through viewing documentaries, Tuan added.

The 11-day festival will feature a total of 12 Vietnamese documentaries, in addition to 10 productions from Austria, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom.

Most notably, some of the entries to be shown had previously won awards at other international film festivals.

The occasion will take place at the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio in Hanoi and at the Hoa Sen University in Ho Chi Minh City.
