Giant stage takes shape in Nha Trang for Miss World 2026 grand finale

In the final days of August, April 2 Square in Nha Trang has turned into a major construction site as crews work around the clock to complete the stage for two major events of Miss World 2026.

According to organisers, the stage is more than 110 meters wide and around 30-40 meters deep, covering much of April 2 Square.

Set directly by the sea, its main performance area faces Tran Phu Street, creating a distinctive outdoor venue in the heart of the coastal locality.

Construction began on August 20. After more than 10 days of continuous work, the main structure and stage floor are expected to be completed on August 30, allowing contestants to begin rehearsals.

Technical systems, decoration and finishing work will continue on August 31.

More than 5,000 seats, 500 workers on site

The audience area will have more than 5,000 seats, excluding the fan zone and standing areas around the venue.

The stage is equipped with large LED screens, sound and lighting systems, lasers and other equipment required for an outdoor production.

More than 500 workers from structural, mechanical, electrical, sound, lighting, LED-screen, logistics, security and production teams have been mobilised to meet the tight schedule.

Teams are working in shifts around the clock, with the construction site operating on a nearly 24-hour basis at times.

Working so close to the sea also creates additional requirements related to sunlight, wind, humidity, load-bearing capacity and the safety of electrical, sound and lighting systems.

All components must be thoroughly checked and synchronised before the stage is put into operation.

April 2 Square will host the Dances of the World programme on September 2 and the Miss World 2026 grand finale on September 5, putting the Nha Trang waterfront at the centre of the pageant’s final activities.

Miss World 2026 enters its final stage

This year’s Miss World brings together contestants from around the world for a series of activities, challenges and competitions in Vietnam.

The official Miss World organisation describes the 2026 edition as its 75th Anniversary Edition, with contestants arriving in Vietnam from August 9 and the final event scheduled for September 5.

The competition’s format narrows the field from Top 40 to Top 20, Top 12 and Top 6, with several Top 40 places secured through challenges including Beauty With a Purpose, Multimedia, Head-to-Head, Top Model and People’s Choice.

Vietnam’s representative Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, who stands 1.86 meters tall, has attracted attention during the competition. Her official Miss World profile identifies her as a model and the founder and CEO of Gen Zero, a youth-led social enterprise focused on climate policy and social impact.

Bao Ngoc has also made her mark in several challenge events, including winning the Top Model title in the Asia and Oceania region, which secured her a place in the Top 40, according to the information previously reported.

As the pageant enters its final days, attention is turning to the large seaside stage in Nha Trang, where contestants are rehearsing and preparing for the final performances.
