European Literature Days open in Hanoi

VOV.VN - The 2023 European Literature Days officially opened on May 13 in front of the Ly Thai To Monument in Hanoi, attracting the participation of representatives from various embassies and cultural institutes of 13 European countries.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Thierry Vergon, director of the French Institute in Hanoi and president of the EU National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), shared that the function will help participants gain greater knowledge about the various cultures, lifestyles, and people of different countries across the world, as well as other aspects.

The 2023 European Literature Days will showcase diverse literature works from the UK, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, France, Finland, the Czech Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Italy, he said.

During the event, he noted readers will have the opportunity to engage with authors, translators, editors, and publishers, while  attending seminars and taking part in other interactive activities.

Within the framework of the 2023 European Literature Days, a wide variety of cultural and literary activities will be held, including book introductions, literary discussions, and book fairs.
