Da Nang’s tourism promotion activities strengthen cultural links with RoK
VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang launched a broad array of tourism promotion activities in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on June 29 with a tourism promotion gala in Seoul, aimed at boosting tourism cooperation while strengthening cultural ties and friendship between Vietnam and the RoK.
The event drew nearly 100 delegates from tourism associations, airlines, travel firms, online travel platforms, media outlets and tourism partners in the RoK, along with representatives of Da Nang’s tourism businesses.
The program is designed to strengthen connectivity and expand tourism cooperation in Seoul, Daegu and Busan, while introducing new tourism products and promotional programs targeting the 2026 Chuseok holiday season.
At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Vu Ho highlighted tourism as a passport to greater mutual understanding among nations and stronger friendship between countries. He also described Da Nang as one of Vietnam’s standout destinations, citing its attractive landscapes, safe and welcoming environment, and steadily improving service quality.
The Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK will continue working with ministries, local authorities and business communities from both countries to promote people-to-people exchanges, enhance Vietnam’s image and support tourism cooperation, Ho emphasized.
According to Van Ba Son, Deputy Director of Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the RoK has been one of Da Nang’s key international tourism markets for years. He noted that support from Korean agencies, businesses and partners has helped promote the city, expand air connectivity and make Da Nang a favored destination among Korean travelers.
During the 2026 Chuseok holiday, the central city’s tourism sector will introduce welcome gift programs and special promotional packages for Korean visitors in an effort to attract more travelers from the market.
As part of the Da Nang Tourism Festival in October 2026, the city will invite Korean travel companies to join a familiarization trip, or famtrip, to experience new tourism products and explore further cooperation opportunities.
During the gala, Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also honored partners for their contributions to destination promotion and the development of the Korean tourism market. Da Nang tourism businesses also showcased their products and connected directly with Korean partners.
Following the Seoul event, the delegation will organize a Da Nang Culture-Tourism Pavilion at the 2026 Daegu Chicken and Beer Festival from July 1 to 5, while continuing promotional activities in Daegu and Busan.
Notably, Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will sign a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation with the Busan Tourism Organization to enhance joint tourism promotion, visitor exchanges and tourism product development between the two localities in the time ahead.
