Da Lat Flower Festival 2021 cancelled amid high COVID-19 risks
VOV.VN - The administration of Lam Dong made a decision on November 9 to suspend its annual Da Lat Flower Festival due to the complicated nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ninth version of the festival had been scheduled to go ahead in late December, with the event featuring a wide range of cultural activities.
Despite the cancellation, local authorities plan to hold lighting and arts performances at Lam Vien Square and Xuan Huong Lake in Da Lat City in order to mark the New Year and to welcome in 2022 as a replacement for the flower festival.
The amount of money donated for the organisation of the Da Lat Flower Festival will go to help poor children study online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The festival has been organised every two years since 2003, with the purpose honouring flower growers in Da Lat and call for greater investment in the city's trade and tourism development.
