VOV.VN - Localities situated in the northern province of Son La have exported roughly 5,000 tonnes of mangoes to the Chinese market since the beginning of the harvest season, representing a total value of US$2.24 million.

At present, plenty of areas throughout the region are focusing on harvesting mangoes for the consumption in both domestic and foreign markets, with consumption peaking at over 1,200 tonnes per day.

Indeed, the price of mangoes locally typically ranges from between VND8,000 and VND11,000 per kilo, while the selling price of the fruit at the border gate stands at between VND12,000 and VND30,000 per kilo.

Currently, leading export firms include the Golden Field Agriculture and Forestry Joint Stock Company of Lang Son province, along with the Moc Luu Thach Joint Stock Company and the Southern Fruit Trading Co.Ltd of Ho Chi Minh City.
