Ho Chi Minh City’s CPI up 0.64% in October

Ho Chi Minh City’s consumer price index went up 0.64% month-on-month and 3.42% year-on-year in October, announced the municipal Statistical Office on October 30.

Among 11 goods categories, eight posted price increases from the previous month; led by education (2.29%), transportation (1.71%); dining and catering services (0.71%); housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials (0.29%); culture, entertainment and tourism (0.06%); post and telecommunications (0.05%); household equipment and appliances (0.03%), goods and other services (0.02%). 

During the month, medicines and medical services maintained stable prices. Meanwhile, prices of beverages and cigarettes fell by 0.02% and those of apparel, headgear and footwear dropped by 0.01%. 

Gold prices decreased by 0.46% while USD prices moved up 0.21% from September.
