In addition, the country has so far granted permission to 24 countries to export meat and poultry products to Vietnam, including 19 countries that are able to export pork and related products.
Between the beginning of the year and April 13, a total of 108 local enterprises imported pork and related products.
Indeed, as of April 13, Vietnam had imported over 46,402 tonnes of pork, an annual increase of over 300%, of the total imports from Canada stood at 24.59%, those from Germany at 19.32%, Poland at 14.14%, Brazil at 9.50%, the United States at 8.39%, Spain at 6.72%, and Russia at 4.04%.
Along with pork products, the nation imported a total of 2,494 breeding pigs from the US, Canada, and Taiwan in 2019, in addition to 1,808 during the first quarter of the year.
Moreover, between the beginning of the year and April 13, the country imported more than 78,376 tonnes of poultry meat and related products, an increase of 150% on-year.
Most notably, the majority of poultry meat was imported from the US, the Republic of Korea, Brazil, Poland, the Netherlands, and Russia.
