SAV Deputy Auditor General Doan Xuan Tien gave a briefing on the outcomes of the ASOSAI 14 Assembly, saying that ASOSAI 14 drew around 400 delegates and 400 domestic and foreign guests.

The 7th Symposium themed “Environmental Auditing for Sustainable Development” — one of the most important issues on the agenda — has fulfilled the goal of building a common forum for participants to share their knowledge and experience and proposed solutions to effectively carry out environmental audits in the aim of realizing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mr Tien said that as the host of ASOSAI 14, the SAV becomes the ASOSAI Chair for the 2018-2021 tenure, which offers an opportunity for the SAV to affirm its position and role in member SAIs and international organizations and demonstrate its growth and capacity to better assume international responsibility in the ASOSAI community.

The event presents an opportunity for the SAV to further reform and refine all aspects, motivate its staff to improve their professional capacity and ethics in the international environment, and actively contribute to the development of the ASOSAI community, said Mr Tien.

Auditor-General of China’s National Audit Office, Hu Zejun, underlined the need for member SAIs to further their cooperation in environmental auditing to ensure sustainable socio-economic development. In his position as ASOSAI Secretary General he will support member SAIs’ activities towards sustainable development and creativity, the head of the Chinese SAI said.

At the end of the press conference, General Auditor Ho Duc Phoc extended his sincere thanks to and praised the close collaboration of media agencies for their dissemination of ASOSAI 14 as well as their contributions to the success of the event.
