Agro-forestry-fishery exports near US$30 billion in ten months

VOV.VN - Export turnovers of agro-forestry –aquatic products hit US$2.74 billion in October, bringing the total export value for the first ten months of the year to US$29.76 billion, up 12.7% against the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Earnings from farm produce exports were estimated at US$15.62 billion, up 15.2% over the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, revenues from aquatic and forestry shipments surged 17.6% and 9.9%, to US$6.73 billion and US$6.44 billion, respectively.

In October, Vietnam exported 430,000 tons of rice worth US$206 million, raising the ten-month volume to 5.05 million tons worth US$2.25 billion, up 22.3% in volume and 21.1% in value compared to same period last year. The average export price in nine months was US$442.3 per ton, down 1.6%.

Cashew exports were estimated at 289,000 tons worth US$2.87 billion, down 0.4% in volume and up 23.1% in value.

However, the export turnover of coffee has seen a decline of 2.5% against the same period last year. The country earned US$2.69 billion, exporting 1.17 million tons of coffee in the same period.

Pepper exports grossed US$1.02 billion from shipping 192,000 tons, up 20.7% in volume and down 21% in value.

Up to now, fruit and vegetable exports have witnessed strong growth with turnover of US$209 million in October, elevating the ten-month revenue figure to US$2.84 billion, up 41.2% against the same period last year.

China, Japan, the US, and the Republic of Korea remain the four leading importers of Vietnam’s fruit and vegetables.

In October, export value of agro-forestry- aquatic products was estimated at US$1.86 billion, bringing the total value over ten months to US$22.93 billion, 14.3% higher than last year's figure.
