Agriculture promotes Hung Yen’s socio-economic development

Goods-oriented agriculture development and promoted-agriculture restructuring have significantly helped the northern province of Hung Yen reap fruitful results in its socio-economic development in 2015.

The locality recorded a growth expansion of 2.4% in the year, with budget collection reaching nearly VND7.9 trillion (US$355.5 million) and export value hitting over US$2.4 billion.

According to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phong, positive achievements in 2015 will be a motivation for the locality to realise its strategic objectives in 2016.

Local authorities aim to earn over VND11 trillion and VND90 trillion from agriculture and industry, respectively. The locality hopes to increase its export turnover to US$2.8 billion, create jobs for about 21,000 labourers and pull the rate of poor households down to 2% in the year.
