Playing an important role in protecting internal politics, the Ministry of Public Security’s Party Committee must ensure that the police force’s tremendous achievements in maintaining political security and social order are highlighted, Party General Secretary Trong told the committee during its meeting to review work during the first half of the year and discuss preparations for its Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.
He said that the committee should swiftly complete mechanisms, policies, and laws regarding national security protection and in the fight against crime. This must be done alongside the police force’s activities to meet the state’s requirements in the new context, especially in addressing new issues and non-traditional security challenges.
In an effort to prepare for the force’s upcoming Party Congress, Party General Secretary Trong suggested that the committee continue to hold consultations among various party chapters with the participation of senior police officers, scientists, and experts working with the police force, in order to gather opinions and complete the Political Report and other relevant documents of the congress.
Most notably, he stressed the importance of personnel work ahead of each Party Congress, saying the committee must not allow any cadres or Party members that have violated political standards, Party rules, or regulations, to stand among its ranks during the upcoming leadership contest.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hailed the police force’s vital contributions in the country’s fight against the novel coronavirus and underlined its primary task of safeguarding upcoming local and national Party congresses.
