Vietnam to be represented at ADMM in Philippines

VOV.VN - A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, led by Defence Minister Ngo Xuan Lich, will attend the 11th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and the fourth ADMM plus during a visit to the Philippines on October 23-27 at the invitation of Secretary of National Defence Delfin Lorenzana.

Vietnam’s attendance at the meetings underlines the country’s active, proactive and responsible participation and cooperation in fields within the ADMM and ADMM +. It also demonstrates that Vietnam is building a framework with a view to implementing defence cooperation initiatives in ASEAN.

It affirms the country’s important position in the region and internationally through multilateral forums and its efforts to maintain peace, stability and development in the region.

Alongside this, the official visit to the Philippines has the duel aim of discussing and agreeing bilateral defence cooperation measures in the near future, further consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries.
