US to share experience with Vietnam in law making: Diplomat

US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius affirmed that US experts are willing to cooperate and share experience with their peers from the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs in building the laws on Belief and Religion, and on Associations.

During a reception hosted by Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thai Binh for the Ambassador in Hanoi on November 4, the US diplomat stated that thanks to discussions, he got more understanding about the process of building the two laws, as well as new regulations in the draft legal documents’ contents.

Minister Binh said his agency was assigned to be in charge of building the two draft laws on Associations, and Belief and Religion in order to ensure rights and interests of citizens and organisations in the process of their involvement in activities related to associations and religious organisations in Vietnam.

Feedback from the public, especially religious organisations, dignitaries and followers, and associations to the two draft laws, are being collected, he added.

During the meeting, the host briefed the guest on making laws and ordinances of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s 2011-2016 tenure, which aims to concretise the 2013 Constitution.

He also highlighted the two important laws approved by the NA – the revised Law on Organisation of Government and the Law on Local Government Organisation, saying they are pillars of the Vietnamese administration.
