|Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong (R) hosts Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo.
Vietnam and China are neighbours who are both led by communist parties, he said, noting that the two nations’ time-honoured friendship, built by late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong and nurtured by generations of leaders, is a precious asset that both sides need to uphold and foster.
He suggested the two parties and countries should intensify experience sharing, advance substantive and effective cooperation in diverse fields, and properly deal with outstanding problems on the basis of the common perceptions of their leaders and in line with the international law, thus delivering practical benefits to the two peoples and contributing to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Xiong Bo, in turn, expressed his honour to serve as Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam and showed his elation at the vigorous growth of relations between the two parties and countries over recent years. He pledged his best efforts to make positive contributions to bilateral ties.
The Chinese diplomat affirmed the Chinese Party and Government’s recognition of great importance to friendship with Vietnam, adding that they hope the two sides would go ahead with increased high-ranking exchanges and wider cooperation between their ministries, sectors, and localities, and substantive partnerships across a variety of fields so as to steadily develop the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
