At a reception for the South African diplomat in Hanoi, the Vietnamese State leader hailed her contributions to Vietnam – South Africa friendship and comprehensive cooperation during the past tenure and wished her success in future.

The Vietnamese Government has always regarded
the ties with South Africa as a priority in its foreign diplomacy while paying attention to increasing cooperation with it, Quang told his guest.

The State leader expressed his delight at growing bilateral relations, with  regular exchanges of high-ranking delegations and annual trade exceeding US$1 billion, hoping that comprehensive collaboration across trade, mining, education, tourism, natural resources, and environment will be further stepped up.

Regarding the 25th anniversary of bilateral relations next year, Quang said he expects that both nations will launch a string of pragmatic activities to elevate relationship to new heights.

The President used the occasion to invite his South African counterpart to visit Vietnam in the come to come.

Kgomotso Ruth Magau, in turn, noted with satisfaction the two countries’  sound relations during her past tenure and stated that her nation should avail itself of opportunities to cooperate with Vietnam at international forums, and at bilateral level via their party, government, and parliamentary agencies.

She said South Africa is making every effort to push up economics and trade with Vietnam.
