During the meeting, the municipal leader suggested culture should be an important pillar in bilateral cooperation whist affirming the capital city’s willingness to support Malaysia in holding cultural activities in the walking street around Hoan Kiem Lake in the centre of the city.
He expressed his hope to receive more assistance from the Malaysian embassy in order to successfully hold the Meeting of Mayors and Governors of ASEAN Capital Cities, which is due to be attended by the leader of Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur capital city.
Hanoi will offer the best possible conditions for Malaysian enterprises to run business in the city, Chung said, and suggested promoting trade and investment, educational and tourism activities.
The Malaysian diplomat, in turn, hailed the efforts by Vietnam, particularly Hanoi in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. She also pledged his best efforts to boost relations between Vietnam and Malaysia, and between Hanoi and her country’s localities.
