HCM City leader hosts Japanese city governor

VOV.VN - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem on January 17 hosted a reception for Nakamura Hiro, Governor of Yatsushiro city, the Japanese prefecture of Kumamoto.

Liem said Ho Chi Minh City has taken heed to stepping up cooperation with Japanese localities over the past years and the city has established friendly partnership with seven Japanese localities.

This year, the city will embark on external cooperation with Japan, including the seventh Japan – Vietnam festival slated for February, he said, adding that Ho Chi Minh City is keen to increase collaboration with Yatsushiro city in areas of common concern.

Nakamura Hiro, in turn, said Yatsushiro wishes to enhance collaboration with Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City across a variety of fields, particularly in cross-cultural exchange.
