The delegation laid wreath at the statue of Hero Samora Machel – the first president of Mozambique after the country gained independence and freedom.
They visited Ho Chi Minh Boulevard, which is the biggest and most beautiful street in Maputo.
They also called at the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique and listened to Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung’s report on the embassy’s recent activities.
Trung stressed the need to enhance trade and economic cooperation on par with the politic relations between the two countries in the coming time.
Deputy PM Hai in turn spoke highly of the Overseas Vietnamese community’s effort to strengthen friendship and cooperative ties with Mozambique.
He urged the OV community to pay further effort to spur bilateral economic and trade cooperation which is still far below the two countries’ full potential.
Hai underscored that during the international integration process, Vietnam will focus on domestic economic development, and expand economic cooperation and trade exchange. So, Vietnamese diplomatic missions should fulfill the external affairs assigned by the Party and State to boost national economic development.
