Business Council President welcomed in Hanoi

(VOV) - President Truong Tan Sang on March 13 received President of the US-ASEAN Business Council Alexander Feldman, who is heading a US business delegation on a working visit to Vietnam.

President Sang said Vietnam attaches great importance to trade ties with the US, noting that through regional and international forums, the country wants to broaden business integration with major markets including the US.

Vietnam will endanger the best possible conditions for US enterprises to do effective business and the country hopes US businesses will continue to cooperate with their Vietnamese counterparts to further boost bilateral trade ties, Sang said.

Feldman said that his side’s firms will increase trade promotion activities in Vietnam in the areas of machine and equipment supply, expressing his wish that the host country will facilitate US investment.

Regarding Vietnam’s potential in mining and energy, the US guest touched upon difficulties in the investment and cooperation process while asking the two sides to coordinate with each other to settle any pending issues to speed up the implementation of underway projects.

The US official also stated that his side is willing to cooperate with Vietnam to finalise the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement negotiations.
