|Vietnamese booth during the ASEAN food festival in Myanmar
The festival opened on August 17 under the them “The authentic flavor of the east”.
In his opening speech, Myanmar's Minister of International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin said cuisine cultures across the ASEAN members, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and India were highlighted at the event which also served as a better chance to promote the development of Myanmar’s tourism sector.
During the two-day festival, more than 160 booths displayed food and gift items from Southeast Asian nations.
The Myanmar Chefs Association and Myanmar Bartenders Association Myanmar Chefs Association also gave their cookery demonstrations to the festival.
Vietnam introduced to international friends its traditional dishes including Nem (spring roll) and Che (sweet soup) which draw attention of many visitors.
