Addressing the VFF’s 7th Congress in Hanoi on March 25, Dung emphasised that Vietnam’s national football squad needs the experience and input of both domestic and foreign coaches who have different approaches, tactics and professional skills.
He suggested establishing a long-term development strategy for the local football sector until 2020, with a focus on hiring foreign coaches, fostering comprehensive cooperation and calling for sponsorship.
The VFF Chairman also highlighted fruitful cooperation with Japan.
“The Vietnam Professional Football Company (VPF) has named Tanaka Koji of Japan as head of the V-League organising board. It has also asked the Japan Football Association (JFA) to send an outstanding coach to train Vietnam’s national football team in preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup at the end of this year,” Dung added.
