Tran Anh Tu, Chairman of HCM City’s Football Federation, announced on October 31 that two other foreign teams – namely Japan and Thailand – will also take part in the event, which is considered a good chance for local players to hone their professional skills and gain more experience prior to the coming 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.
Brazil has recently claimed the championship title at the 2013 Futsal Grand Prix, while Japan and Thailand secured top and second place at the Asian futsal champs, respectively.
Competitors will play in a round robin format to select the best team who will receive a cash prize of US$5,000.
The organizing board will also present awards to the best player, the best goal-keeper, and the best striker.
Tickets cost VND50,000/match.
