The first part of the “Homeland - Reunion season” show tells inspiring stories of people who have made outstanding contributions to the country’s development in various fields.

They include Professor Nguyen Van Huyen, who was the first Vietnamese to successfully defend his doctorate dissertation at Sorbonne University in Paris, France in 1934; Thai Thi Lien, who was the first manager of the Piano Faculty at Vietnam Music School (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music), late painter Bui Xuan Phai, who is famous for his paintings of Hanoi, and artist Nguyen Le, a pioneer in combining jazz and traditional music.

The second part features talks with Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, who was the first Vietnamese to fly into space, Associate Professor Pham Anh Tuan, director of the Vietnam Space Center, and renowned fashion designer Cong Tri.

A special guest of the show is world-known pianist Dang Thai Son, who will return to Vietnam from Canada to join the event.

“Participating in this special program is an honor for me and my family. I have performed for a long time but playing a Vietnamese melody right in my homeland gives me a very special feeling,” Son said.

Moreover, the audience will be treated to emotional music performances by famous artists such as Thanh Lam, Tran Thu Ha and My Linh, ballet and circus performances, and a fashion show.

Talking about the show’s meaning, journalist Dang Diem Quynh said: “Spring, summer, autumn and winter are the four seasons of year. And Tet is the fifth season: the season of love and family reunion.”
