Malaysian singer wins at ASEAN+3 pop singing contest

VOV.VN - The finale of the ASEAN+3 pop singing contest came to an end in the northern province of Quang Ninh's Ha Long city on July 28 with Malaysian singer Rosario Ninih Chamini Bianis being winner.

Organized by the The Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the event attracted 22 professional singers aged 18-35 from ASEAN member states and four guest singers from China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.

Contestants underwent semi-final and final rounds, with members of the jury coming from the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

VOV President Nguyen The Ky said at the finale “The biennial contest was hosted by VOV  for singers to show their talents and sentiments to their colleagues and the wider public. The grand musical event is also one of Vietnam’s activities to mark the 52nd anniversary of ASEAN.”

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh applauded VOV for organizing such a regional musical contest.

“The government supports activities that strengthen solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and other countries. I believe that the contest will be success and become a popular venue for young ASEAN singers,” he said.
