International women’s cycling race opens in Binh Duong

The second International Women’s Cycling Race (Biwase Cup 2012) kicked off in southern Binh Duong province on March 8.

The event attracted the participation of nearly 70 cyclists from 10 teams coming from Vietnam and Malaysia.

They are competing in several stages totalling 680km: Binh Duong to Vung Tau (120km), Vung Tau - La Gi, Binh Thuan (112km), La Gi - Dong Nai (137km), Dong Nai - Tay Ninh (109km), Tay Ninh - Binh Phuoc (115 km), and Binh Phuoc - Binh Duong (80km).

Winners of the tournament will receive cash prizes worth a total of more than VND250 million.

The event is among the activities to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8), and is expected to be held annually.
