Hanoi to host flower festival

A flower festival will be organised this summer in the Hanoi’s ancient Thang Long Imperial City to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long- Hanoi.

The flower festival is part of a project called Cultural Space jointly conducted by XQ Vietnam and the Co Loa-Hanoi Ancient Capital City Preservation Centre.

The organising board will set up a flower museum, displaying 12 of Vietnam’s most exquisite 2 sided embroidered paintings and other prominent artworks. There will also be a theatre stage, where artisans will perform a tea ceremony and a variety of folk music.

On October 1, artists from southern Vietnam will present a painting entitled Uoc Nguyen Ngan Nam Thang Long (Thang Long’s thousand-year wishes) to the festival.
