Famous American singer to perform in Vietnam

American country music singer and songwriter Mary McBride, will perform in Ho Chi Minh City and join the biennial Hue Festival 2012 in April.

During her stay in Vietnam from April 4 to 14, McBride and her band, will perform at Lan Anh Club in HCM City on April 6 and at Thai Hoa Palace in Hue on April 8-9.

The American singer will join guitarists Paul Carbonara and Mark Spencer, bass player Greg Beshers and drummer Bobby Lloyd Hicks for an exchange with students in HCM City and Hue, and participate in charitable events for disadvantaged people in HCM City, Hue and Quang Tri province.

McBride and her band have released four albums, namely “Everything Seemed Alright”, “By Any Other Name”, “Every Day Is a Holiday”, and “The Way Home”. They have also toured many countries around the world including the US, Europe, Russia, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.

McBride received significant acclaim for her performance of “No One’s Gonna Love You like Me,” which was used on the soundtrack of Oscar-award winning film “Brokeback Mountain”. She was also chosen by Elton John to perform at the 35th Anniversary Concert of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
