The show, scheduled to start on May 24, features Vietnamese rock bands like Ngu Cung and UnlimiteD as well as foreign talents such as Hail the Villain and The Lost Soul Club.
After the qualifying round in mid-May, bands progressing to the next stage of the competition will perform three-night Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City semi-finals before returning to the capital city for the final round on June 29.
Two new faces will join musician Thanh Phuong on the show’s jury.
Last year’s competition, performed on a stage inspired by the ancient Roman coliseum, was a massive success with audiences.
They were enchanted by Ngu Cung’s northwestern Vietnamese-inspired melody Nu Hon Tren Dinh Fanxipan (Kiss on Faxipan Peak) and Oringchains’ winning dubstep Furious.
Before arriving in Viewtnam, the BOTB has already been regarded as an internationally popular arts and cultural exchange programme.
