The event, which is running with the theme of “The Taste of Homeland”, attracted the participation of 13 renowned chefs from Germany, Mexico, India, China, Sweden, the United States, Turkey, Greece, Singapore, and Malaysia.
During the festival, the chefs put on display their cooking skills and introduced those in attendance to their countries’ traditional dishes. Most notably, they used ingredients and spices native to the central region of Vietnam to cook their dishes.
The highlight of the five-day festival takes place each night when the president of the World Chef Association selects a chef to cook a specific dish from each country within a special area.
Thomas Andreas Gugler, president of the World Chef Association, noted that the event presents a wonderful chance for chefs to discover Danang and sample some of the delicious food of Vietnam.
The festival is set to run last until June 6.
