124 outstanding young scholars honoured

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on March 31 to honour 124 outstanding Vietnamese who did well in entrance exams, International Olympic competitions and university graduation exams in 2006.

Representing these youths from across the country, 76 most celebrated ones attended the ceremony, which was organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee and the Vietnam Student Association’s Central Committee.


Speaking at the ceremony, Vice State President Truong My Hoa praised their excellent study skills and expressed her wish that students would try their best to study well, have good morals and take part in voluntary activities with the community to become a role model in society. They must try their best to make greater strives in science and technology and to actively participate in building a rich and prosperous country.


She also asked relevant agencies to pay attention to training activities for the younger generations and to create favourable environments for them to develop their creative talents, and better serve the revolutionary cause of the party and the people.


This is the second time the event has been held to encourage students to study well and conduct scientific research activities.
