Vietnamese youths leave for WorldSkills Competition

VOV.VN - Thirteen Vietnamese youngsters left Hanoi today (October 7) for Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, to join the world’s largest vocational skills competition, WorldSkills.

Cao Van Sam, Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Vocational Education, said contestants got access state-of-art technologies and learned much experience from foreign trainers during their one month training in Germany and the Republic of Korea.

This will be the sixth time Vietnam has been represented at the WorldSkills contest with Nguyen Duy Thanh’s 2015 bronze medal for IT software solutions for business proving a high watermark for future success. With such thorough preparations this year expectations are high, said Mr Sam.

Vietnam will face stiff competition, with around 1,258 contestants set to represent 58 countries in the 44th
WorldSkills Competition, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on October 8-20.
