Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun thanked Hanoi for its support for his city’s infrastructure and human resources development while praising the result- oriented cooperation over recent years.
For his part, Hung congratulated Vientiane on its tremendous achievements, especially high economic growth rate and locals’ improving living conditions.
The two sides pledged to work closely in organizing a string of events marking the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations as well as 40 years since the two countries signed their friendship and cooperation treaty.
They also examined ways to promote cooperation and experience sharing in urban transport, trade connectivity and administrative reform towards the single-window mechanism.
Both sides also suggested opening a Hanoi restaurant in Vientiane and a Vientiane restaurant in Hanoi to promote their respective culinary delights.
Hung and his delegation is set to attend the 10th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum, themed “2030 Road Map for Sustainable Transport - Aligning with Sustainable Development Goals” on March 14.
