Minh asked the Greek diplomat to make positive contributions to boosting the Vietnam-Greece relations as well as Vietnam- EU ties. He told his guest that the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant Vietnamese ministries will create favorable conditions for him to fulfill his assigned tasks.
The Deputy PM highly rated the positive development of the Vietnam-Greece relations as shown by their closer coordination and mutual support at many multilateral forums and international organizations. Notably, bilateral trade has always grown by more than 20% over the past five years.
Host and guest also discussed a number of measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time by increasing high-level delegation exchange, maintaining regular bilateral consultation mechanisms, proposing effective way to raise two-way trade turnover, and promoting cross-cultural exchanges.
Ambassador Raptakis expressed his honor to work in Vietnam and affirmed that his nation always attaches great importance to strengthening relations with Vietnam. He said he expects the two countries to continue deepening relations in the time to come.
He also pledged to make further efforts to deepen cooperation and friendship between the two nations and relations between Vietnam and the EU during his tenure.
Greece will actively accelerate the implementation of the Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between Vietnam and the EU, and the official ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to open up new prospects for trade and investment between the two sides in the future, he said.
