France helps preserve Han-Nom literary work

The French-based Far Eastern Archaeological Institute has presented a Complete Work of Han-Nom (Chinese-transcribed Vietnamese) Inscription Texts to Vietnam.

The 10-volume work, translated into English, French and Vietnamese, was handed over to the Nguyen Du Historical Site in central Ha Tinh province.

The establishment of the work is part of a cooperative programme between the Han-Nom Research Institute of Vietnam and the Far Eastern Archaeological Institute (EFEO) and the French Institute of Postgraduate Practice (EPHE).

The programme aims to better preserve Vietnam’s Han-Nom literary work that provides a valuable insight into the country's cultural heritage by promoting research, surveys and collections of Han-Nom bibliographies and books.
