Vietnam Airlines to add more flights over Tet

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines plans to add 850 domestic flights over the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, which falls in mid-February next year.

From February 1-28, the airline will add 562 flights to the Hanoi-HCM City route and 288 flights to the HCM City-Danang route, the airline reported.

With the number of air passengers expected to rise by 20 percent during this Tet compared to the last festival, the extra flights will increase seating numbers by 45-85 percent on the Hanoi-HCM City route and by 65-120 percent on the HCM City-Danang route.

The airline also plans to add more flights on other routes from HCM City to cities like Hue, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku and Quy Nhon.
