Local authorities briefed Thai journalists on Ben Tre’s socio-economic situation and potential, as well as its investment incentives given to foreign investors.

According to local officials, Thailand is now the largest foreign investor in Ben Tre province, where big Thai businesses, including the CP Group and the Alliance One, have invested in many production projects.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Hieu, expressed his hoped that the Thai media would help to introduce the province’s potential to regional countries and encourage Thai companies to increase the inflow of investment into Ben Tre.

During their trip, which was made at the invitation of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, Thai journalists called at the Dong Khoi newspaper office, the provincial Television and Radio Station and a number of historical relic sites.
